ROECKL & skin protection: elegance meets responsibility
Sun protection for a stylish summer season
During the summer, one often thinks of light clothing, sunglasses, and refreshing beverages; however, protecting our skin is equally crucial. The hands, face, neck, and décolletage are particularly exposed to the sun on a daily basis and require special attention.
Summer gloves – the often overlooked skin protection
Insights from the interview with dermatologist Dr. med. Zott-Schuhmacher
Do you feel that many individuals neglect to apply sun protection on their hands in their daily routines?
Dr. med. Zott-Schuhmachers: „Indeed, this is the case. Many people have internalized the importance of protecting their faces, yet the backs of their hands remain largely unprotected. I advise every patient that sunscreen for the face should also be applied to the backs of the hands. The issue is that hands are washed multiple times a day, and reapplication is infrequent.“
What advantages do gloves offer over sunscreen, particularly in everyday situations?
Dr. med. Zott-Schuhmachers: „The advantage is that one does not need to reapply after every hand wash, and the hands do not feel greasy, which can often be bothersome.“
